Who we are
Oleinx is a cold-process soap studio app. For privacy questions, contact hello@oleinx.app.
What this app stores
Most studio records live on your iPhone, in the app’s sandbox. That includes:
- Batches, oil catalogs, lye notes, quality scores, and cure-day text.
- Photos you capture or import for cure stages, plus optional voice notes.
- Plaza tickets you publish, favorites, blocked authors, and reports you submit.
- A local maker ID and optional display name used to label your tickets.
- Oleinx Coin balance after App Store purchases, stored on device.
- Cure-reminder preferences (days and time) that you turn on in Me.
Clear All Data in Me erases this local studio, resets coins to the welcome amount, and restores the bundled Plaza sample tickets. That action cannot be undone.
What we do not collect
- Oleinx does not run its own account server for batches or Plaza in this version. Your crock is not uploaded to an Oleinx cloud.
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
- We do not require an email or password to use the studio.
Permissions you may grant
- Camera — to photograph pours and cure stages for local records.
- Photo Library — to import soap photos, and to save HD oil-matrix cards when you export.
- Microphone — optional voice notes on a batch. Audio stays on this device.
- Notifications — local cure reminders (for example Day 7 / 14 / 28). These are scheduled on device. Oleinx does not use a notification delegate to open hidden screens from a banner; a reminder can still bring you back to the app.
You can refuse any permission. Features that need it will stay unavailable until you allow access in iOS Settings.
Purchases
Coin packs are sold through Apple In-App Purchase. Apple processes payment. Apple may receive the information required to complete a StoreKit transaction (such as a purchase receipt). Oleinx only credits coins after Apple confirms a successful purchase. Product identifiers are not shown in the app’s purchase copy. Restore and billing questions are handled by Apple’s purchase flow and your Apple ID.
Plaza, reports, and blocking
Plaza can show bundled studio sample tickets and tickets you publish from a real batch cover photo. If you report a ticket, Oleinx hides that ticket from your feed so you are not shown the material you flagged. Blocking an author hides that author’s tickets from you. Reports you file are stored locally so the app can keep that content out of your view. If Plaza later uses a hosted feed, reports may also be reviewed by the Oleinx team so objectionable content can be removed. You can reach us about a report at hello@oleinx.app.
Children
Oleinx is not directed at children under 13. Cold-process soap involves caustic lye and is intended for adults who understand studio safety. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Safety content
Lye calculator figures and formula notes are tools for your own recipes. They are not a substitute for supplier SDS sheets, local regulations, or professional advice. Always handle sodium hydroxide with proper protection.
Data retention
Local studio data remains until you delete a batch, delete an oil, or use Clear All Data. Uninstalling Oleinx removes the app sandbox on that device. Apple retains purchase records according to Apple’s policies.
Your choices
- Edit or delete batches, oils, and your Plaza posts in the app.
- Unblock authors in Me → Blocked.
- Turn cure reminders off in Me → Cure Reminders.
- Erase the studio with Clear All Data (two confirmations).
- Revoke camera, photos, microphone, or notification access in iOS Settings.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Oleinx after an update means you have read the revised policy.
